One of the things that originally fascinated me about microgreens was how much nutrition could be packed into something so tiny.

Research has shown that certain microgreens can contain substantially higher concentrations of some vitamins and beneficial phytonutrients than their mature counterparts—sometimes many times higher depending on the variety and nutrient measured.

But here's what I love most:

You don't have to completely change the way you eat.

Grow them and sprinkle them onto the foods you're already eating.

Eggs.

Avocado toast.

Salads.

Sandwiches.

Even pizza.

A handful of freshly harvested microgreens is one of the simplest ways I know to add more fresh greens and plant nutrients to everyday meals.

I didn't either.

Traditional microgreen growing often means large plastic trays, bags of soil, racks, lights, and a fair amount of mess.

So I approached MicroGrow differently.

I wanted something small, simple and beautiful enough to leave on your countertop.

MicroGrow uses reusable natural clay growing trays and a compact, stackable design to create a little living garden right inside your home.

Depending on the variety and growing conditions, you can go from seed to harvest in approximately 7–10 days.

You don't need a backyard.

You don't need gardening experience.

You don't need complicated hydroponics.

You just need to start.

♻️ You're Not Locked Into Expensive Proprietary Pods

This was important to me from the beginning.

Many countertop growing systems make their money by selling you the machine and then requiring you to continuously purchase expensive proprietary seed pods or cartridges.

I didn't want MicroGrow to work that way.

MicroGrow is an open growing system.

Our natural clay growing trays are reusable.

There are no expensive plastic seed pods.

There's no mandatory seed subscription.

We offer carefully selected microgreen seeds, coco growing media and supplies because we want to make the experience convenient—but we don't believe buying MicroGrow should mean surrendering your freedom to choose.

You bought the grower. It should be yours to grow with.

💰 We Want Growing Fresh Food to Stay Affordable

Fresh microgreens can be surprisingly expensive at grocery stores and farmers markets—when you can find them at all.

Growing them yourself changes that.

Instead of repeatedly buying small packages of harvested greens, you're growing them from inexpensive seeds right in your kitchen.

And because many microgreens can be harvested in roughly a week, you can keep another crop growing behind the one you're eating.

That's where MicroGrow starts becoming more than a kitchen appliance.

I think we've all learned something over the past several years:

Our food system is incredibly efficient, but it's also complicated.

Food prices rise.

Weather affects crops.

Transportation gets interrupted.

Supply chains change.

Produce can travel hundreds or thousands of miles before reaching our kitchens.

I'm not suggesting that a countertop garden is going to replace your grocery store.

But I do believe there's tremendous value in knowing how to grow some of your own food.

🌱 Quality Seeds Matter to Us

A growing system is only as enjoyable as the seeds you're putting into it.

That's why we're serious about the seeds we offer.

We source our microgreen seeds in relatively small batches from a leading North American supplier. Our seeds are non-GMO, many varieties are organic, and they're selected for strong germination and microgreen growing.

Our supplier also tests seed lots for important foodborne pathogens, including Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria.

I personally grow and test our seeds too.

Because if I'm going to send something to your home that you're going to grow and feed to your family, I want to feel good about it myself.

This may be one of the most important differences.

GoMicroFresh isn't some giant faceless corporation.

We're a growing small business.

I'm involved.

I read customer questions.

I see the photos people send us.

I hear about the first successful harvests—and occasionally the first ones that didn't go exactly as planned.

If your first grow isn't perfect, we don't want you giving up.

Sometimes a little less water, another day under the top tray, or a small adjustment is all it takes.
